Check Out Electrify2 and Defy XT, The Two New Handsets by Motorola

A news buzz has been going in the technology market regarding the brand name Motorola. The recent development is that Motorola has launched two new handsets named Electrify 2 and Defy XT. Interestingly both these devices are available to US customers only.

Electrify 2 as the name suggests is the second of the series of Electrify by Motorola. This device is powered by Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). Defy XT is powered by Gingerbread (Android 2.3) OS, the notable features of this handset is that it is dust proof, scratch resistant and waterproof.

Interestingly both these handsets are on par with the latest available technology, powered with Android OS makes it more favorable to technology consumers.

Motorola Electrify 2

Measuring 66mm x 129 mm x 8.4 mm and weighing at 130 grams Motorola Electrify 2 comprise of a 4.3 inch qHD ColorBoost display, with a 540 x 960 pixels resolution. This phone has an OS of Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0 version) with a dual-core processor of 1.2GHz. This means that the performance of the phone is good and the user will not be disappointed while indulging in browsing. Other features like a 5mp camera gives a decent picture quality with the functionality of auto-focus will enable in capturing focused images. The LED flash will help you shoot in dim or low light conditions. As far as video recording is concerned you will get HD 1080p video and playback; with this you can record decent videos.

A front facing VGA camera is provided for the purpose of video calling. The connectivity options include 3G capacity, 4.0 Bluetooth for faster data transfer and Wi-Fi connectivity with 802.11 b/g/n.

Motorola Defy XT

Defy XT is a touch screen capacitated handset and its screen measures at 3.7 inches with 854 x 480 pixels resolution. It measures at 115mm x 58.5 mm x 11.95 mm. This phone is powered with Gingerbread (Android 2.3) OS and weighs at 130 Grams just like Motorola Electrify2. This phone also contains a rear-facing camera similar to Electrify2 with 5mp, auto-focus and LED flash. Other things include 1GHz processor and 1 GB internal memory with an option to expand the memory up to 32GB. These things might be similar to Electrify 2 but there is one thing that Defy XT lags in, it is its RAM. With mere 512 MB RAM a user might be disappointed as this can only be utilized for carrying out basic functionality. Activities like heavy browsing, downloads and media streaming cannot be carried on this handset.

Electrify 2 was launched a day before and the launch of Defy XT is at the end of this week so it is difficult to make any premature judgments about it. However, let us hope that these phones are appreciated by technology enthusiasts alike.
